This started its life as a quick silly doodle on printer paper, and became a finished painting. Nakatsu was made in 2003, based off the mechanics of the Timon puppet from the stage production of The Lion King. I didn't get a shot of me in full "costume". I was dressed all in black, and the intent was for me to be Nakatsu's shadow. It gave me the excuse to work with and try several things I hadn't been able to before, and I'm actually quite pleased with the results.
